Mr. Chawan’s villa, being a corner plot, allowed us to expand our design scope. The road facing facades are taken advantage of, by providing a large cantilevered sit-out at the corner, letting in ample amount of natural light and creating cross breezes into the house.

The sit-out on the first floor is multi-functional, while adding to the overall cubic massing of the villa and contrasting the neighbouring elements to create a three-dimensional facade that stands out. It brings in soft morning light from the north and east, and acts as a space buffer to keep the interiors cool.
